Confessions of the Convalescent ONE

Almost one week beyond knee surgery I have spent way too much time sitting, aching, reclining and hobbling! I am not one to sit and veg out. Now from time to time, sure watch a movie or the latest AI segment or whatever. But man this is killing me!

But I have a few confessions I need to share.

• After 52 years I have learned to walk correctly-heel to toe!
• You put the crutch opposite side of injured leg? Who knew!
• I was a little over confident in my progress
• I have great kids; they seem to be very mindful of POPS being in pain.
• I need to be grateful for small things!
• It is a shame I have to be flattened to get still.
• I tend to be do it my way first.
• I think I have to do everything and sometimes you can’t.
• I am aware now I need to get back in a gym VERY SOON! Be grateful of your ability to work out.

Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live. ~Jim Rohn

Patio Reflections

Sometimes it is good to be mindful of how blessed you are! I will be the first to admit that I can quickly forget whose team I am on! I do, at times sweat the small stuff. But today I am thankful for so many things. I have a great wife who is the reason I wake up each day! I got three wonderful kids who are as different as the days are long and I love them bunches. I have to date three jobs (some people would love just one of them).
Outstanding week stuff!
-After I ask Bo, “what did you get out of the meeting on Tuesday night? He looked right at me and said “I got HOPE”. Case is closed, a good night when your talk is on sin and your kid said he got hope.
-I landed a job this week that is has crazy upside to it!
-SLO is at home for several days and we are having fun.
-We have friends here this weekend!
-This week’s meeting had some new people in it!
-Shari and I have told our story to a few neat people this week.
-I am doing a wedding for some old Georgia friends.
-And the coffee is especially good, so I must bid you a “later”.
Try today to reflect on five good things God has done for you this week!
Peace and Love!

Thanks!

Psalm 118:1 (NLT)
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.

It is the time? You know thanksgiving, being thankful, eating yourself into a stupor, shopping on black Friday, watching the football bonanza. It happens to be a great holiday for sure.

But I know the older I get I don’t need a specific day to be thankful. I have small reminders from time to time that I am a blessed man and should be grateful everyday.

Here is my refrigerator list of thanks to the Lord!!

I am thankful for 25 years with Shari baby!
I am thankful for 3 great kids!
I am thankful they are almost off the payroll.
I am Thankful for a job.
I am thankful for Great friends.
I am thankful for Bama kicking Auburns fanny this weekend!
I am thankful to live in a great land.
I am thankful I see the ocean every day I live.
I am thankful for my health.
I am thankful to be closer to family now.
I am thankful for God’s favor.

What does your list look like!!
